Early Years
Raguel was intentionally orphaned by his alcoholic parents and left in a orphanage in Holdeigh. There he met Silas, who was brought in a few months before he arrived. He and Silas were bought together into the Roofing and Wall Corps under Commander Jawleigh Crimsey. They performed menial labor under stressful, dangerous, and hard conditions for their entire childhood. At near the age of 14, Raguel was made Chief Engineer, and spent the next 10 years caring for and running the Roofing and Wall Corps, leading it to become the premier engineering corps in all of Gruleigh or Drancet.
Raguel is visited by a woman of middle years during his sleep named IraLyssa, who has red hair and seems to live in a sandy world of sourceless light and a dark sky. She often talks to him, asks him questions about his day, and offers advice.She claims to be able to save his life should he be in mortal danger, but he does not believe her.
Middle years
At the age of 24, Raguel and Silas accompany Crimsey to partake in a job in the most western reaches of Gruleigh – the Lachian Mountains. They plan to flee the Corps and strike out towards the Loman Union to start a new life and learn about themselves.
